Young Agents' Mission

The Young Agents Committee serves as the unified voice for all IIANC Young Agents in North Carolina and as the connection which perpetuates the future of the independent insurance agency system. Through effective leadership and use of resources, the mission of the Young Agents is: To attract, develop and educate young independent insurance agents.
  • To instill professionalism and ethical behavior.
  • To address legislative issues surrounding our industry.
  • To promote good community relations.
  • To foster an environment in which young insurance professionals can interact with each other resulting in successful career paths for young agents and growth for their agencies.

Get Involved with IIANC Young Agents

The IIANC Young Agents are an active, dynamic group, and we encourage all Young Agents in your agency to get involved in the Young Agents’ many activities and projects.

  • Events – IIANC hosts events specifically for Young Agents. These are great places to network with other Young Agents and company representatives to find markets and build valuable relationships.
     - Young Agents Baseball Outings
       - Annual Convention
       - Joint Young Agents Conference with South Carolina
  • Political Involvement - Young Agents in North Carolina are more politically active than anywhere else in the country. Our Young Agents raise more money for our Political Action Committees (PAC's) than most states raise from their entire membership. Young Agents are encouraged to participate in both InsurPAC and NC Small Business PAC and attend our association’s legislative events.
     - National IIABA Legislative Conference in Washington, DC

  • Community Service Projects - IIANC Young Agents are continuously involved with a service project to help our community and industry. Past projects include working with the Autism Society of North Carolina, Victory Junction, Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics NC, the Ronald McDonald Houses of NC and a scholarship endowment for insurance majors at UNC-Charlotte.
Make-A-Wish Central & Western North Carolina and Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina (current project)

  • Recruitment & Development - Young Agents are active in the search for new employees in the industry. To assist with this need, Young Agents are encouraging the introduction of insurance education in our high schools and community colleges. Young Agents are also involved in career recruitment programs at North Carolina universities with insurance majors.
