Position: Customer Service Representative

 

Role: The CSR is an integral link in the business relationship that is created by our agency, our clients, and our companies.  For many clients, the CSR is the focal point of their contacts with our agency, and frequently clients rely on the CSR to explain, select and place their insurance coverages and facilitate changes to their policies and accounts.   The individual CSR needs to objectively assess the underwriting practices of our companies when placing coverage.

 

In addition to fundamental rating, underwriting and procedural skills, the CSR position requires excellent communication skills combined with sales abilities.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 

  1. Provide superior service to our clients by promptly responding to their inquiries and addressing their individual needs to the products and services our agency provides.
  2. Complete applications on our clients’ behalf for all Personal Lines coverage’s; including price quotations and comparisons, for all of the insurance companies we represent.
  3. Underwrite and place individual risk situations to ensure they meet our agency’s standards and those of the companies we represent.
  4. Maintain individual customer files and process routine correspondence between our agency and the client or company, including preparing policy documents.
  5. Review individual renewal list prior to renewal, to assess coverages and recommend changes when necessary.
  6. Actively develop account sales for assigned clients by soliciting single policy customers for additional policy sales in a manner consistent with our agency marketing plans.
  7. Assist receptionist and other agency personnel when necessary.
  8. Perform additional functions at the direction of Agency Management.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • A positive, team-oriented attitude is necessary to deal with a large variety of personalities.
  • Demonstrated sales success.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possess strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Insurance License and knowledge of industry standards.
